This web site is owned by Maxine Gessle also known as Gran from Gran's Stitch Niche and Donna Browne from Stitch A Painting.
Gran's Stitch Niche has been online for over three years at the time of writing this text. I design a few patterns each year that are all free downloads to the public.
Stitch A Painting has been online since 2005. Stitch A Painting has high quality cross stitch patterns for sale as well as a good selection of free patterns.
The web site idea was born when a lady asked a question on one of the Cross Stitch Yahoo groups I belong to. She wanted to know where she could sell the patterns she designed online. I answered her and suggested the two places I knew of. It was then I started to think about the need for a web site that is not in the game to make money out of the designers.
It seems most web sites who sell patterns for designers take between 40% to 60% of the sale price of a pattern for themselves! That doesn't seem fair to us. The designer is the person who spent hours, days even weeks designing the pattern so how is it fair the distributor gets 60% of the sale price? We go into detail about how much the designer will be paid on the Join Us page. If you are a designer please read that page. We are always happy to answer any questions you might have.

Donna has experience in running this type of web site, she used to be one of the owners of Needlework Designs on Demand. She built her own web site Stitch A Painting and helped build Needlework Designs on Demand with her two partners into a business cross stitch designers trusted and respected.
All payments through this site will be handled by Donna. She is experienced in this field as this was one of her jobs on Needlework Designs on Demand. So once again, the designers know Donna can be trusted to send any money from the sales made through this web site.
